On Friday 21st October commencing at 5.30 pm the main Walk A Mile event will take place with Students, Old Boys, Class Groups, Parents and other Well-wishers all starting off from the Mount Lavinia Hotel car park, navigating through Hotel Road and back to the College Big Club Grounds to complete the route. The walk will be followed up by a mini-carnival which will include a hawker street of food and drinks plus a musical event and other entertainment over the course of the evening. A number of bands from other schools have been invited to showcase their talents, while on stage April Shockman will be performing together with a number of DJ’s from the student body.
The event has been made possible by the support of our partners – Ceylinco Life, GS Sports, Bernards and HNB Solo.
The Warden speaking in relation to the Walk A Mile project said ‘The STC OBA has organised a sponsored Walk a Mile Project to raise funds for ongoing infrastructure development projects of the School as it prepares to complete 175 years of existence in 2026. This unique project will enable present boys, alumni, parents and friends of the College. I have no doubt that the organising team, will showcase a fantastic event and I am very thankful to every one of them for the time and talents they have invested on behalf of the College. I also wish to thank all our donors and sponsors both near and far, from school boys to Old Boys and corporate partners, for their contributions to this initiative and in turn the projects of STC.
