A number of Class Groups supporting the Walk A Mile project have recently fulfilled their pledges by completing their commitment to the Smart Classroom project as part of the wider initiative.
The Class of 92 is the most recent batch to complete their donation when they handed over funds to equip two classrooms with Smart Boards, which will help improve the delivery of education through enhanced and interactive lessons. This adds to the Class of 94, Class of 95, Class of 81, Class of 61, the Old Boys of Washington DC, and Mohomed Thowfeek (an Old Boy from Texas) who have all made good on their pledges
The Smart Classroom project was initially set up from the proceeds of the Thomian Ride which took place in 2016 organized by the Batch of 1982. From the proceeds of that initiative which amounted to approximately Rs 13.5 million, the College has been able to equip classrooms with 20+ Smart-boards. The goal is to equip all the remaining classrooms with Smart Boards through the Walk A Mile project. The other initiatives for which funds are being raised include The Senior Quadrangle project, The Pavillion Project and S Thomas’ College Gurutalawa Infrastructure support.
