The OBA’s flagship Walk A Mile project, which was launched to the Old Boys last week, was unveiled to the students of STC at an assembly held on Thursday.
The Warden together with OBA Hony. Secretary Tilan Wickramasighe and Project Chairman Richard De Zoysa and other project committee members, introduced Walk A Mile to the students, highlighting the importance of the project while also reminding them that some of the infrastructure they have benefitted from in College was built as a result of funds raised through projects initiated by Old Boys and the OBA.
The students, who were addressed in the quadrangle as part of the school assembly, were invited to participate in this event to raise funds to help future generations of Thomians through the projects earmarked for development. They were informed that all students had already been pre-registered and all they had to do was share their profile with their friends and family to get their sponsorship going.
Other key members of the Walk A Mile committee presented the project’s user-friendly website, details on how to sign up and, as a bonus, the prizes on offer to the highest student fundraisers including state of the art electronic devices.
We look forward to the participation of all the students of STC.
